Transfer Fees

Real Estate Transfer tax-fees are necessary in order to transfer FREEHOLD ownership to the name of the purchaser. This can be done as soon as the relevant Government Authority has issued the title deed and the purchase has been completed. The Transferee is responsible for the tax payment.

Property Transfer Fees are based on a sliding scale as follows:

    3% - on the first € 85,430

    5% - on the next € 85,430

    8% - on the remainder

Should the purchase be made in joint names (i.e. husband and wife) the calculation for the total transfer fee is as follows: € 200,000 costs the home then the husband and wife would each pay € 3,291.40 making the Property Transfer Fees payable € 6,582.80 in total.
